Each of the facets which make up the edges of the Ralph bench catch the light differently as they turn 90 degrees from the vertical to the horizontal. This can look spectacular when accentuated with a graded wood stain. The neighbouring facets of each edge follow the position they held when in plank form, by doing this the grain figure appears consistent over the entire radius.
